Foiling and balayage are both highlighting techniques used with in the salon.
Foiling is a technique where hair is sectioned off before applying colour, these sections of hair are placed in foil to process.
These sections can be thicker, thinner or even called baby lights depending on the look your trying to achieve. Foiling tends to result in a more dramatic colour change and brightness.
There are many different toning techniques to soften or elimate harsh foiling lines including root smudge or colour melting.
